Canadian Humanitarian's mission is to break the cycle of poverty by providing orphaned and vulnerable and their families with access to healthcare, education, vocational training and the basic necessities of life such as nutrition and shelter.

Congratulations

Canadian Humanitarian would like to congratulate journalist Kyle Bakx.  His documentary Medicine Hat Magic: Expedition to Ethiopia, which chronicled the experiences of Medicine Hat volunteers on the October 2008 Expedition, has won a regional RTNDA (Radio-Television News Directors Association of Canada) for best long feature.  Click here to view excerpts of this documentary.

Verge Magazine Photo Contest

Verge Magazine, in collaboration with the Go Abroad Fair, has launched the
2009 Travel With Purpose Photo of the Year Competition.

Enter to win the Grand Prize of $1,000. Selected short-listed images will be
displayed at the 2009 Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver Go Abroad Fairs and
will be published in Verge Magazine's Photo Annual edition. Contributions
from Canadians who have worked, volunteered or studied overseas, or have
spent some time overseas, are particularly welcome. All short-listed
photographers will receive a travel prize pack.
