Students Uniting Nations

In 2006 Judi Lockie came up with the idea to provide aid to children in need on many levels. The Students' Uniting Nations program addresses both the immediate needs of orphaned children in developing countries and the long term benefits of teaching global awareness and humanitarianism to students in Canada.

Students' Uniting Nations aims to connect North American schools with orphaned children around the world, therefore assisting orphanages and creating global awareness of the living conditions of orphaned children.

In the 2008/2009 School Year the following schools across Canada are participating in the SUN program:

Delisle Elementary - Delisle, Saskatchewan
Vanscoy Elementary - Vanscoy, Saskatchewan
Lord Asquith School - Asquith, Saskatchewan
Norwich Elementary - Norwich, Ontario
West Park School - Portage La Prarie Manitoba

October 2008 Expedition volunteers working on a SUN project with children at Kid's Hope Gulelle.

Students Uniting Nations provides a link between the students at these schools in Canada and the students enrolled at the PATH and Kid's Hope projects. Students exchange photos, music, cultural and country information, crafts, letters and more.
