Values and Beliefs

Canadian Humanitarian adheres to the following Values and Beliefs.

Values Beliefs
Respect Canadian Humanitarian acts with the utmost professionalism with our partner organizations and treating all persons equally and with respect. We ensure that our policies and procedures of human relations are legally grounded, of high quality and respectful of the dignity and rights of individuals.
We will not rent, sell or share our donor list with other organizations and will honor and respect all requests for anonymity and privacy from our donors.
Integrity Canadian Humanitarian acts with integrity, openness, and honesty in all relationships, dealings and transactions. We strive to earn and convey trust through integrity, openness, and honesty.
Accountability Canadian Humanitarian will keep faith with our donors, supporters and the general public through efficient, cost-effective, transparent and reliable uses of resources. We will be accountable to our donors, knowing that it is their generosity that helps us achieve our mission. Canadian Humanitarian follows Imagine Canada's Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code.
Children’s Rights Canadian Humanitarian believes that every child is entitled to all the rights guaranteed by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child such as the right to survival; to develop to the fullest; to protection from harmful influences, abuse and exploitation; and to participate fully in family, cultural and social life because children need special protection and care. Children must be able to depend on the adult world to look after them, to defend their rights and to help them develop and realize their potential.
Human Rights Canadian Humanitarian believes that all individuals are entitled to all the rights guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Canadian Humanitarian will respect all people's race, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and ability. Access to Canadian Humanitarian's projects is based on individual circumstances and is not affected by ethnic diversity
Collaboration We collaborate with our members, our partner organizations and other local and international NGO’s to ensure our services are provided with dignity and match the needs of our partners.
